I've been where you are.
Most advice assumes disruption happens in a vacuum — one problem, one solution, in order. It doesn't work that way. When change hits, it rarely hits just one thing. A shift in the world moves through the organization, through your role, through your own life, all at once. That's what makes it so disorienting.
I've lived all three sides of it.
A company I loved went through rapid growth, and reorgs came fast — a team I'd built real trust with was broken apart, and my new team was pieced together out of fragments. It was lonely and disorienting. I mourned what I'd lost, then rededicated myself to the fresh start in front of me.
A merger once opened a gap at the exact moment someone else's life was pulling them away. I leaned in — and stepped into more scope faster than any traditional pathway would have allowed.
Another time, a reorg landed while I was already quietly weighing whether I belonged where I was. It wasn't a derailment. It was the nudge I needed to build something of my own.
Change will always catch you a little off guard. But the real work isn't just absorbing it — it's tuning into what you actually want, and asking how this moment might move you toward it.
This quiz is what I wish I'd had in each of those moments.
Let me know how it goes.
